Makala earned her B.S in Materials Science Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Bioengineering. Her research focuses on assessing binding interaction of bispecific molecules designed for cancer immunotherapy. Outside of the lab, Makala enjoying hiking, reading and taking naps. She has received awarded the GT President’s Fellowship,NIH Cellular and Tissue Engineering Training grant, and NIH Diversity Supplement research grant.
